The Clinical Psychology area at UC Irvine welcomes students interested in applying to Clinical Psychology PhD programs and who may benefit from mentorship and application guidance. The event is offered both in-person at a UC Irvine location to be announced and remotely via Zoom. 

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the PhD application process, connect with current graduate students and faculty, and receive guidance on strengthening their applications.

The application deadline is Monday, April 13, 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time)

The Ensure Justice 2026 conference aims to equip attendees with practical tools and evidence-based strategies to protect youth and elevate youth justice. Presented by Vanguard University's Global Center for Women and Justice (GCWJ), the conference this year is themed, "Resilient & Ready: Supporting Youth to Stand, Speak and Lead."

Across plenaries, panels and targeted workshops, attendees will hear from leading researchers, practitioners and youth themselves -- and then leave with resources that can be used right away in classrooms, families, congregations and communities.

Monika Neff Lind, PhD, a postdoctoral scholar in the CERES network working with UC Irvine professors Candice Odgers, Stephen Schueller and Gillian Hayes, leads an engaging webinar on what makes a talk memorable and effective. Lind will share a practical, easy-to-apply formula for great presentations, including: 

• Enthusiastic approach
• Compelling story
• Effective slides
• Authentic performance

Participants will sign off from the webinar armed with concrete steps that can be applied immediately, whether one is preparing for The International Society for Research on Internet Interventions (ISRII) 14th Scientific Meeting in October or any other conference, lecture or webinar.

The UC Irvine Center for Psychology & Law presents this Winter 2026 event with Kyle C. Scherr, a Central Michigan University psychology professor, whose research uses basic social and cognitive psychological theories to understand applied outcomes. Much of this research focuses on issues at the intersection of psychology and law. 

One area examines the social cognitive underpinnings of suspect decision-making during police interrogations and the stigma associated with innocent individuals who falsely confess. Another area focuses on wrongful convictions and the social cognitive factors associated with decisions and judgments influencing the process leading to exoneration and the stigma and general experience of innocent individuals once released and exonerated. A third area focuses on social cognitive factors that can bias forensic evidence gathering and analysis.

This event features a happy hour from 5-6 p.m., followed by Dr. Scherr's lecture from 6-7 p.m.  

The UC Irvine Center for Psychology & Law presents this Winter 2026 event featuring Jason Schiffman, professor of psychology and the inaugural Director of Clinical Training for UC Irvine’s Clinical Psychology program, and Jasmine Tehrani, a forensic psychologist, USC assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and adjunct assistant professor of psychology as well as the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation Board of Parole Hearings Forensic Assessment Division's chief psychologist.

This event features a happy hour from 5-6 p.m., followed by the lectures from 6-7 p.m.  

The UC Irvine Wellness Initiative in Socal Ecology's WISE Wednesdays resume with psychology Professor Elizabeth Cauffman, a co-creator of the Orange County Young Adult Court offender diversion program.
