DETAILS

Sing Sing is a 2023 prison drama film directed by Greg Kwedar, written by Clint Bentley and Kwedar and starring Colman Domingo, whose performance earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison in Ossining, New York, the film centers on a group of incarcerated men involved in the creation of theatrical stage shows through the program.

Besides Colman and other professional actors, the film features many real-life formerly incarcerated men who were themselves alumni of the program during their incarceration. This includes Sean "Dino" Johnson, who is a special guest at this event. Psychology Professor Elizabeth Cauffman moderates a discussion, and featured speakers come from UC Irvine's Underground Scholars, the Center for Psychology and Law and the Alec Glasser Center for the Power of Music and Social Change.

Due to limited space, please RSVP through the link to the event's ZotSpot page or scan the QR code on the flier.
