Social Ecology alum to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills

Social Ecology alum Thomas Parham, who is currently UCI's vice chancellor for student affairs, will be taking the reins at Cal State Dominguez Hills as the university's next president.

Parham spent 33 years at UCI, and helped generations of students reach their full potential. And he is vowing to transform lives at Cal State Dominguez Hills by turning it into "a destination campus, not a default campus," he said during a send-off Sunday church sermon on May 20, according to the Orange County Register.

At UCI, he'll be missed.

"Dr. Parham has been a fierce advocate for our students, working tirelessly to make their experience on campus a compelling part of their education," said UCI Chancellor Howard Gillman. "I shall miss his wise counsel, steady hand, and good humor."
