Book focuses on conflict and peace in two cities.
Scott Bollens, professor of urban planning and public policy, has published a new book about urban conflict and peace in the politically polarized cities of Jerusalem and Belfast since 1994.
The book, Trajectories in Conflict and Peace: Jerusalem and Belfast Since 1994, is based on extensive research, fieldwork and interviews and examines how peace is shaped by both city-based people and national elites, and takes place over an extended period.
"In a politically polarized city, creating peace for its intimate enemies is harder than making war," Bollens writes in the book.
The book was published by Routledge.
