California Retains Cash Bail, Rejects Punishment Rollbacks

A state law that would have ended cash bail was overturned by California voters. Keramet Reiter, professor of criminology, law and society, says, “Those attacks from both sides led to its failure, even though what we see in the state overall is a real support for progressive reforms.”
