Daybreak Dialogues - George Tita and Laura Archuleta - Nov. 9, 2022

A House, A Home, A Hope

The OC Housing Shortage is more than just a Homelessness Issue

Join the ChangeMakers as George Tita, director of the Livable Cities Lab and Laura Archuleta, CEO of Jamboree Housing, outline results from an important and timely study showing the real effect of the siting of affordable housing and its effect on property values and crime. They will also illuminate the concerns of local businesses as they seek to retain a younger work force - products of world-class educational institutions - who are never-the-less leaving the county in search of careers in places they can afford to live. Laura and George will also discuss the many obstacles in the way of the creation of more housing - from a challenging regulatory environment to competitive market forces to NIMBYISM - and ways in which we can reach a path forward.
