Join the University of California, Irvine Chancellor, Howard Gillman, and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Secretary, Kathleen Allison, for the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that will extend access to currently incarcerated students, who have successfully completed an A.A. degree, to earn a Bachelor of Arts from UC Irvine.
CDCR and UCI share a commitment to transforming lives and communities by enabling people who are incarcerated to have access to higher education and earn a B.A., and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion for all Californians.
Featuring remarks by Chancellor Gillman and Secretary Allison and a question-and-answer period moderated by Keramet Reiter, UCI associate professor of criminology, law & society, and director of this initiative.
