Graduate students from the Department of Planning, Policy and Design presented their research on "Where is Orange County's Downtown" to community leaders on May 10, 2011. The social, physical, environmental and economic aspects of The Platinum Triagle, The Great Park, and South Coast Plaza were analyzed to determine whether the district had the potential to function as a regional downtown or "hub" in Orange County.
The presentation was a good opportunity for community leaders to see the work of the students as well as the contribution that the Department of Planning, Policy and Design, and the School of Social Ecology can make to providing vision and imagination for addressing planning issues locally, regionally and beyond.
