Rendon Awarded a Grant

February 2012

Maria Rendon, Assistant Professor of Planning, Policy and Design, has been awarded a grant from the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality. The grant, which will support her project titled: "The Mobility Prospects of Latino Young Men: Before and After the Great Recession," will permit Dr. Rendon to undertake a follow-up study of the young men she initially interviewed for her dissertation on this subject. Her findings will contribute to a book project on the social mobility of Latino men - a group that was extraordinarily and adversely affected by the recession that began in 2008 in terms of housing foreclosures, unemployment, and poverty.
