Peter Ditto, Professor of Psychology and Social Behavior, will participate in a press briefing on January 27, 2012 at The Society for Personality and Social Psychology Annual Meeting in San Diego to discuss the latest findings on political ideology. Despite widespread beliefs to the contrary, Americans are no more polarized than in times past, and the left and right are similarly motivated when they go to the polls, according to recent research by social psychologistsExploring the latest findings from 40 years of data about American political attitudes, as well as from the 2008 Presidential election, the press briefing will look at how people's moral convictions shape their beliefs about policy issues and what that could mean for the 2012 election.
