Grabowski wins first place at CPF competition

November 2010

Second year Master of Urban and Regional Planning student Lauren Grabowski won first place in the highly competitive California Planning Foundation (CPF) student scholarship contest.

In the past six years, UC Irvine students have won the statewide competition twice -- more than any other planning program in California since 2005. Lauren is currently spending the Fall quarter in China, researching her professional report topic on rail transit and land use in Chinese cities and rural areas. Her study is supported by the Chew-Liang Fellowship awarded by the UCI Center for Asian Studies. Lauren came to UC Irvine with a degree from Dartmouth, and has been active in student leadership throughout her time in the program. She is committed to improving planning practice in the U.S. and abroad. Congratulations to Lauren.
