Alexis Hickman, a graduate student in the Department of Planning, Policy and Design, and other UC Irvine doctoral students are members of UCI Environment Institute's Sustainability Science Team. This interdisciplinary group is studying Western Riverside County and issues such as traffic, open space and energy consumption in an area that had rapid growth followed by a real estate crash.
