Instructional Design Services

Priority Development
Are you interested in partnering with the instructional design team on a project?
We're fully committed to your project from start to finish. As an extension of your development team, we offer:
- Dedicated time and effort over an extended period
- Your project is scheduled on our calendar
- We work together to meet specific milestones
- Full involvement in all aspects of course development
Because we have a limited capacity for these types of projects, we will prioritize our work based on the following guidelines:
Self-supporting programs: Fully online master’s programs
State-supported programs:
- High impact courses
- Innovative ideas
- New to online
- Course refresh
- School or department priority

Online Course Support
Are you teaching an online course this academic calendar? We are here to support you.
We offer as-needed assistance. If we have availability, we are here to assist you in any way that we can.
Key features include:
- Potential for a wide range of services
- Faculty can seek help with specific elements (e.g., developing ideas, creating assignments, studio filming)
- We can review courses and offer suggestions
- Support provided as time permits

Teaching and Learning Consultations
Could you use pedagogical, technological, or other forms of instructional design assistance? Would you like to meet to discuss an idea, troubleshoot an issue, or engage in some pedagogical problem-solving?
Schedule a 30-minute or 1 hour meeting with the instructional design team. We are available to meet with you to discuss ideas, troubleshoot educational technology issues, and discuss best practices. We focus on empowering you and supporting pedagogical problem-solving.
Key features include:
- Meet with faculty to discuss ideas and troubleshoot issues
- Provide advice on best practices
- Demonstrate techniques or tools

Multimedia & Learning Resource Development
Do you have an idea for a resource that could benefit the school, students, or faculty?
This service focuses on the production of educational resources and materials. If you have an idea of something that could help faculty or students in our school, please let us know. If you would like to create videos for your course in our studio, we can create these with you.
Key features include:
- Creation of course templates
- Development of general and discipline-specific resources
- Assistance with video production, including green screen videos
- Production of bespoke multimedia resources for specific classes
Meet the Team

Director of Instructional Design
Heidi Beezley
Heidi’s life-long aspirations are to maintain a sense of curiosity and achieve "wise-old-woman" status. She has been at UC Irvine for nearly a decade, with Social Ecology much of that time. Heidi holds an M.Ed. in Education from UC San Diego and an M.A. in Educational Technology from San Diego State University.

Senior Instructional Designer
Tawana Washington
Tawana holds a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Human Performance Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Education, with nearly a decade of experience designing courses across asynchronous, synchronous, and hybrid modalities at UCI and The Ohio State University. Her work focuses on creating inclusive and engaging learning environments through instructional design expertise, faculty support, and integration of learning technologies.
