LOCATION

DETAILS

The Chair of the UCI Academic Senate convened a new task force to make recommendations on how UCI should move forward on issues related to climate change.

  • How can we increase the visibility of climate change research and mitigation efforts on campus?
  • How can we break down silos across programs and foster emerging collaborations and communications related to climate change research?
  • What are the primary needs of the climate change research community on campus?
  • How can the Academic Senate best advocate for campus policy changes to ensure UCI continues to be a leader in climate change research and mitigation?
  • How can we build on the Bending the Curve pedagogical initiative to educate our campus community and the public on climate change and its potential solutions?
  • What academic programs in the areas of climate and sustainability should the campus consider developing? Are there innovative, alternative models for organizing climate-related programs that may go beyond the existing structures at UCI? What can we learn from approaches taken at other universities?

For UCI to effectively answer the threat of climate change, we need to know our strengths. Please help us build a database of scholarly activity on climate change happening at UCI by completing the survey and joining us at the conference.
