Join researchers and authors for a workshop researching labor, entertainment, media, technology and related fields. Students will discuss research methods, emerging questions, and conducting meaningful research on a changing industry.
For this workshop and lunch, the UC Irvine Labor Center and School of Humanities present the co-authors of Boom to Bust: How Streaming Broke Hollywood Workers (UC Press, 2026). Miranda Banks is a professor of film, television & media arts at Loyola Marymount University. Kate Fortmueller is an associate professor of film, media & theatre at Georgia State University.
