Digging into "Big Data"

A Workshop on Analysis of Intensive Longitudinal Data in Social Science Research
DATE
Fri, 01/19/2018 - 8:30am to 5:00pm
LOCATION
Social and Behavioral Sciences Gateway (SBSG), Room 1517
DETAILS

Intensive longitudinal data (ILD) are data with frequent, repeated measurements over time. New technologies like smartphones, fitness trackers, and the Internet of Things are generating large amounts of ILD relevant to social, health, and behavioral research. ILD collection is becoming increasingly popular among researchers, but as enthusiasm for its potential applications has grown, so have questions about how these data can be most appropriately analyzed.

To help UCI researchers working with ILD, the School of Social Sciences, School of Social Ecology, and Center for Demographic and Social Analysis will sponsor a daylong workshop with presentations by experts at the cutting edge of ILD analytical methods.

Featured speakers include:

  • Niall Bolger, Columbia University
  • Donald Hedeker, University of Chicago
  • Nilam Ram, Pennsylvania State University
  • Michael Russell, Pennsylvania State University

Space at this workshop is very limited, in order to facilitate discussion and training. If you are interested in attending this workshop, please complete the application by January 5, 2018.

Please contact Naomi Sugie with any questions.
