School of Social Ecology and Northgate Gonzalez Market present this special, fun-filled event for family and members of the community. The festival comes alive with Latino-inspired delectable foods along with traditional music, dance and activities.
Ballet Folklorico de UCI welcomes guests. Headline entertainment is provided by the Mariachi Divas.
Guests can participate in the virtual community altar, enjoy a Mariachi concert while visiting the face-painting and sugar skull crafts booths. Entertainers will weave in history and an explanation of Día de los Muertos and the space will be filled with inspirational stories of UCI’s Latino students, alumni and faculty.
On-campus cultural clubs and organizations are encouraged to participate in the event, and each can be provided a table where information can be handed to guests or activities such as papel picado, paper flower crafts or other activities cab be held.
Participants enjoy a hands-on exploration of how the holiday is celebrated globally.
