Participate as a Student

Thank you for your interest in the Take a Student to Eat (TASTE) Program. Before you can begin, please make note of the following:

Requirements

  • Only undergraduate students who are majoring or minoring in the School of Social Ecology
  • Students must complete the online student participation form (link below)
  • Students must attend the lunch/dinner appointment prepared with information interview questions and behave in a professional manner
  • Students must complete the evaluation form after your lunch/dinner appointment

Matching Process

Students will be chosen to participate on a first come, first serve basis. Once you have completed the online student participation form, the Office of External Relations will review the information you provided and make the best match possible with our currently available alumni. The match could be made immediately or take many weeks, depending on your career interests and currently available alumni. If we find you a match, you will receive an e-mail indicating you have been selected to participate in the TASTE Program. You will be required to reply to this e-mail to confirm your participation. Once you reply to this e-mail, you will receive an email introducing you to your alumni match. Then it is up to you and your alumni match to communicate via email to select the best date, time, and location of your appointment. Please note, we will try to make the best possible alumni match for you. However, we cannot personally screen all alumni participants and we assume no responsibility over the quality or outcome of your participation in the TASTE Program. If we are unable to find an alumna/us that match your career interests, you will not receive an email indicating that you have been selected to participate in the TASTE Program.

Confidentiality

Your contact information will only be given to the Social Ecology alumna/us and other student with whom you will be having lunch/dinner with, once you have replied to our confirmation email. The Office of External Relations may contact you after your lunch/dinner to ask you to complete a confidential evaluation form. Or the Office of External Relations may ask you to provide a testimonial for the TASTE webpage and/or other materials used to promote the program. All information you hear or obtain from the alumna/us and other student must be kept strictly confidential by you indefinitely unless disclosure is permitted by the alumna/us and/or student.
