Drs. Alyson Zalta and Kate Kuhlman in the Department of Psychological Science are seeking a full-time research coordinator to support ongoing biobehavioral research focused on risk and resilience to early life stress and trauma exposure. Dr. Zalta is currently conducting a BBRF funded study exploring potential mechanisms of the intergenerational transmission of trauma in military families. Dr. Kuhlman is currently running an NIMH and BBRF funded study on the role of biobehavioral processes as predictors of risk and resilience for depression in adolescence. The job responsibilities include participant recruitment for both research studies, managing undergraduate, post-baccaulareate, and graduate trainees, managing lab inventory, organizing and collecting biological samples (blood and saliva), maintaining research protocols (e.g., IRB, internal procedure manuals), working directly with teens, patients, and families during active data collection, and data organization/management. Furthermore, advanced job functions include discussing new scientific discoveries in clinical psychology and neuroscience and their translational value to ongoing lab projects, processing and analyzing data using computer software or self-written algorithms, and contributing to scientific presentations and publications as needed.
The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field. Skills required include a solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), proficiency in SPSS, proficiency in data management, excellent organizational skills, and demonstrated professionalism. The salary is entry-level (commensurate with qualifications and experience) for the institution, and the position is available for at least one year with the possibility for renewal.
