My research investigates the physiological connections between stress and disease. More specifically, I study the physiological and psychological costs of discrimination, prejudice, sexism, and unfair treatment. Using laboratory stress protocols, we examine how people respond to stressful events, how the stress response might predict adverse health outcomes, and if aspects of a person's culture might be protective.
