Jean-Daniel Saphores holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, with a specialization in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics; a MS in Environmental Systems (Civil and Environmental Engineering); and a MA in Economics, all from Cornell University. He also has a civil engineering background with a degree from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees (Paris, France), and a MS in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Colorado at Boulder. His professional experience includes three years as a consulting engineer with Woodward Clyde Consultants, in Denver, CO; three years as an assistant professor in the Economics department at Laval University, in Quebec, Canada; and consulting for the World Bank. His research interests include: Infrastructure Economics and Management; Urban and Transportation Economics, Planning, and Policy; Water Resources; Waste Management; Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and Policy; and Applied Econometrics. More generally, he is interested in decision making under uncertainty using the theory of Real Options. |
