Summary of Research Interests: Paul Jesilow is Associate Professor of Criminology, Law and Society at the University of California, Irvine. He is the author of numerous articles and books on the topics, including: The Quiet Revolutionaries: Seeking Justice in Guatemala, In the Same Voice: Women and Men in Law Enforcement, Doing Justice in the People's Court: Sentencing by Municipal Court Judges, Prescription for Profit: How Doctors Defraud Medicaid, and Myths That Cause Crime, which was selected by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences as Outstanding Book of the Year.

Professor Jesilow is best known for his research on white-collar crime, in particular fraud in healthcare. He continues to do research in this area, currently focusing on the regulation of Swedish health care. He also continues to study the police and their impact on community.
