Summary of Research Interests:

My scholarship is in the field of urban design. The integration of spatial attributes, social issues, and environmental concerns is the underlying theme of my work. My research draws from the fields of architecture, urban planning, and public policy to respond to one fundamental question: How might the planning and design of the built environment contribute to making a sustainable city? A central theme guides my scholarship: I study the diffusion of innovations in urban design, its impact on urban and suburban form, and its implications for public policy.
