Kathryn E. Henne

Kate graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. specializing in Political
Economy and Women’s Studies from Temple University. A native of
Greencastle, PA, and a black belt in tae kwon do, she worked as a clerk
in her father’s general store and as an assistant self-defense
instructor for her mother’s martial arts organization. She has also
served as an urban educator in North Philadelphia, teaching both ESL
and environmental awareness classes, worked on the Taos Pueblo Reserve,
and interned for the Office of the Corporation Counsel in Washington,
DC. The variety of her personal experiences directly impacts the nature
of her academic interests, which orient around socio-legal
manifestations of inequality. Her research interest include anti-doping rules and disclosures, legal aesthetics, physical cultural studies, race critical and feminist theories. Outside her academic activities, she avidly
travels and plays rugby with her local club team as well as with other
invitational teams.
